One of my favorite things to do is make things. It doesn't matter to me if it is my own idea or someone else's, I just like to make stuff. It could be something useful like a backpack or a kitchen towel or something totally frivolous like jewelry or knick knacks. I am always saving links in my favorites of things to try.
Thursday's thusly, I present to you Tutorial Trials. I am going to showcase what I have been making from my blog searches. Some of the sites I find are so exciting and unexpected.
Yesterday while looking at Design*Sponge, I found a link to P.S.- I Made This. The site itself is nice and basic. I love the inspiration montages which really help give me some of my own ideas. While looking through I found THISsummer scarf. I am a lover of scarves for any season and it just so happens that I have a ton of old shirts to try this out with. PLUS, there was no sewing involved and it only took me about 20 minutes to make. 20 minutes is totally doable when you have small children. Follow the directions and don't forget to pull on each strand because the results of doing that make the scarf so much fun.
What I like best about P.S. is that you don't have to be totally crafty to make things following the tutorials. Most of the projects seem to take things you may have laying around the house or can purchase inexpensively. You should give the site a look.
So, I know it's summer... spring, whatever, but I couldn't get a good shot of my scarf without the black turtleneck. No, I am not walking around the streets of Chicago with a turtleneck when its been over 90 degrees here this week. Don't worry. Because I know you were.
I have a whole laundry list of tutorials to try... if you have tried any or think there is something I should try out, let me know by leaving a comment!
